"The "Text" or representations of meaning that the readers created as they were wrestling with the text and thinking aloud were dramatically in both quantity-the amount of information they contained and quality the kinds of information they contained and the amount of the original text they accounted for"(Haas & Flower,1988,p.174).

"Kara is uncertain of the meaning of a word and somewhat confused generally; she paraphrases content and is satisfied with the text and her reading of it" (Haas and Flower, 1988, p.174)
Haas and Flowers (1988) are saying how Kara rather than trying to understand the content, continues to paraphrase and draw up her own meaning of what she read.
